The Currie Group is bringing drupa to Melbourne in August - it is throwing the doors of its new demo centre wide open for the month to allow printers to see the latest drupa technology in action.
The company says that for those who missed out on drupa, this will be the opportunity to see with their own eyes the new technology available this year.
On display at the Currie demo centre in Hawthorn will be the HP Indigo 7600 digital press, the Scodix S74 digital enhancing solution, and Horizon finishing equipment.
Phillip Rennell, sales and marketing director, Currie Group says "These series of events are set to be the best yet with the two most exciting new technologies available, the Scodix embellishment press and the 7600. We are hosting this event so people in Australia have the chance to see the technology for themselves. There will be a number of people from interstate and New Zealand attending."
The Scodix S Digital Press Series available in B2 and B3 formats (S74 and S52) is a digital embellishment system, it will be the first time it has been seen in Australia. As a stand-alone solution compatible with offset, laminated sheets and digital print feeds, the press automatically processes a wide range of substrates and formats, in weights from 135 to 675 gsm and thickness of up to 0.7mm / 700 microns. The Scodix S Series can print variable levels of thickness and texture, with a thick clear polymer that can reach as high as 250 microns, enabling the production of Braille letters as well as graphic elements.
The HP Indigo on display will be the 7600, a 13 x 19 inch digital sheetfed press, and the first HP Indigo press with carbon-neutral manufacturing, designed for sustainability.
The open house will also feature the latest bindery equipment from Horizon with the high speed BQ-270V perfect binder and the CW-8000NL which combines bleed trimming, channel scoring, stitching, folding, face trimming and stacking.
