Color Copy obtains FSC certification

Mondi  paper  environment
Color Copy has become the world’s first colour laser paper to receive certification from the internationally recognised Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The leading digital colour printing brand from Mondi Business Paper also underwent a packaging redesign this summer to include the FSC logo.

The FSC stamp of approval is significant as the certification process encompasses a third party assessment of an organisation’s forest management practices.

Color Copy brand manager Peter Rossegg says the FSC seal enables consumers to recognise that Color Copy is manufactured using wood raw materials, which originate from sustainably managed forests.

It also measures compliance with a range of internationally recognised social, economic and environmental standards, and stands for the protection of woodland, biodiversity and ecological process. FSC safeguards the livelihoods and long-term wellbeing of local forest communities.

FSC certification adds further advantage to the brand, already confirmed in the 2005 EMGE survey as market leader. The survey, conducted by paper consultant EMGE, rates the runnability and print quality of A4 papers for colour applications and was conducted among paper merchants, office product suppliers and OEMs.

“Thirty-five per cent of people surveyed in Western Europe and 44 per cent in Eastern Europe rated the Mondi Business Paper Color Copy brand considerably higher than competitors,” says Rossegg. “We believe this is firm confirmation of our leading role on the colour laser paper market.”

Color Copy impresses customers thanks to its ideal whiteness, brilliant colour reproduction and high lightfastness. With its excellent runnability and minimum dust generation, which reduces soiling of printers and copiers, Color Copy is ideal for high performance equipment.

Approved by leading equipment manufacturers, Color Copy is offered in weights of 90 g/m2 to 300g/m2, in A4, A3, SRA3, A3+ and folio formats and as continuous web reels.
