COF software updated

business planning  converting
IDM Instruments has been working overtime on upgrading the software for its Coefficient of Friction tester. The Coefficient of Friction tester has been manufactured to determine the static and kinetic friction of plastic film, sheeting and paper and other sheeted material; thus playing a vital role in packaging operations.

With the option of a computer software package to record the data, IDM says it has proven itself to be a fast, reliable and accurate method of determining friction in various areas of manufacturing.

The IDM COF data acquisition software enables users to display their COF results in real time when it is linked to a PC. The latest upgrades to the software package include allowing users to alter the sled weights accordingly, for R&D purposes; the option of choosing how you want results displayed - either in grams or COF results; and the option of auto scaling the graph. When auto scaling is enabled, the force axis on the graph is automatically adjusted with relevance to a particular test, therefore not needing any manual adjustment. Other improvements include the ability to open up previous graphs using a ‘Read Graph’ option; and the ability to print out test report.
