Canon Australia has launched a new range of online web-to-print solutions, which it claims allows print houses, corporate clients and graphic designers to create, edit, order, approve and pay for print jobs online.

Scalable to suit different print businesses, the new range will allow huge time efficiencies and integration with customers and partners, according to the company.

Developed by Online Print Solutions (OPS), the new range includes:

The OrderDesk, which is a central online ordering facility for on-demand and template items such as forms, sales collateral or business stationery. The product also supports the role-out of individually branded storefronts with each supporting advanced and varied customer structures and a multi-level order approval framework.

The NexJob Module allows for the submission of jobs created by the user offline. End users can submit documents in virtually any file type and NexJob converts the document into a PDF on the server and presents it to the user for a visual approval.

The Group Canvas Module, a collaborative publishing platform that provides the flexible capabilities customers need to produce any type of variable document. Group Canvas is ideal for corporate, marketing and retail print environment. Depending upon the template rules, users are empowered to edit text, images or page layouts directly on to the page using the OPS design interface.

The Vweb Module, which is a cross-media solution that enables users to combine the reach of VDP with the precision of web and email communication to create powerful marketing campaigns. Among the marketing activities that VWeb enables is campaigns utilising variable data print, personalised URL's, or PURLS and targeted emails, according to Canon.

Steve Brown, production printing systems marketing manager at Canon says, “This is a great example of taking full advantage of technology in a real world, commercial environment. We’re trying to make new business opportunities for printers, as well as time and cost efficiencies that will significantly boost servicing and delivery of print.”

Meanwhile, James Valbuena, business development manager at Online Print Solutions says, “Online Print Solutions is excited to partner with Canon to provide its customers, and its customers' end users, with flexible and powerful cutting edge web-to-print and cross-media technologies.”
