PacPrint  envelopes  Absolute  direct mail

In the running for the most innovative piece of new equipment at PacPrint was the Direct Target Mailer DTM 8000, which takes a preprinted A3 sheet, cuts it, folds, creates an envelope with one half and inserts the other half as a flyer.

Manufactured in Melbourne it will produce a finished direct mail piece of envelope and up to three inserts, and a tip on, every three seconds, or 1200 an hour, and is aimed at mailing houses, digital printers, offset printers.

The DTM8000 has an inbuilt tracker with codes on the envelope and the inserts to ensure they match. Ewan Howieson, from distributor Absolute, reckons the mail pieces can be sold for $2 apiece, which means total payback will be achieved after around 125,000 pieces.
