A number of outstanding individuals were honoured in addition to the excellence award winners. Jamie Wilson, managing director of Coordinate, won the Young Achiever Award for his business success and community involvement having left university only in 2006.

The Service to Industry Award went to Mel Dalgleis, managing director of Paragon Printers. His career began as an apprentice lithographic printer and went on to print teaching and a return to print business ownership with Paragon Printers. His company also won the Innovation excellence (Specialised processes) Award, Environmental excellence (Project) Award and the Excellence in the production of other printed material (offset over $5,000) award.
