A new research project undertaken by Pricewaterhouse Coopers, in cooperation with the World Association of Newspapers, will feature at the 62nd World Newspaper Congress, held in India from March 22-25.

The study titled, “A Sustainable Future for Newspaper Publishers,” will include an examination of how newspaper publishers react to changing consumer behaviour. It will also look at a range of new technologies that influence the way that consumers interact, communicate and seek information and how these changes are impacting newspapers.

Based on surveys of consumers, publishers and advertisers, industry and company reports, and analyst reviews, the project will cover issues involving new revenue models, technology, ownership structures, labour models for the future, and environmental and sustainability.

Organisers of the event, which takes place in Hyderabad, expect it to attract 2,000 newspaper publishers and senior newspaper executives.
