ProPak Asia 2009, held in Bangkok last week attracted around 785 exhibitors from 39 countries and drew around 30,000 trade professional visitors, according to organisers.
The event, which was opened by Charnchai Chairungruang, the minister of industry, featured a vast array of technological innovations designed to reduce cost and increase energy efficiency in the manufacturing, food processing and packaging industry.David Aitken, managing director of Bangkok Exhibition Services, who organises the show, says, “ProPak Asia is regarded as an Asia’s premier event on processing, filling and packaging, which entrepreneurs and investors were waiting for.”
He continues, “Despite the current recession, a large number of local and international exhibitors still show their confidence in the potential of related sectors, with high interest in introducing advanced industrial technology to their customers in this region.”
As one of Thailand’s three largest annual trade exhibitions, ProPak Asia 2009 is destined to generate greater awareness of the country as regional hub for manufacturing, food processing and packaging, according to organisers.
