The pre-eminent position of digital workflow is being graphically demonstrated on the Kodak stand, with a Star Trek type center console the focal point of the imaging giant's stand.

Every piece of production equipment on the stand is integrated into the workflow. Steve Green, managing director says, "Prinergy is the world's leading workflow solution, and PacPrint vistirs will see it live and in action with new features."

Those fetaure sinclude Colorflow software which autiomatically aligns colour across devices, enabling integrated colour control with Prinergy. Colorflow delivers Color Relationship Management that unifies color elements, managing the relationship between them and the device print conditions.

Kodak also launched its Versamark VL2000 digital reel fed high speed colour printer, which will print duplex A4 or single sided A3 full colour pages at 75 metres a minute. Kevin Joyce, Kodak's vice president of digital marketing was in PacPerint for the show, and said it was aimed at three main applications; transactional statements, direct mail and newspapers.

Joyce also said the Kodak Stream full colour inkjet printer was on target to launch early next year, in monochrome, with the colour version available after Ipex.

Kodak also launched a new CTP for packaging, the Trendsetter NX, which it says produces offset or gravure quality through a flexo plate, with a dot siz eof down to just ten micron.
