Outstanding print processes recognised in Asia awards

Flint Group  inks  UV  printing - flexo  printing - narrow web

Narrow-web ink producers Flint Group Narrow Web has released the results of its Print Awards Asia, held late last year, with the selected winners represented the major print processes - UV flexo, UV offset, UV letterpress, water-based flexo, and combination printing.

The awards, for technical achievement in narrow-web print, attracted an enthusiastic entry from printers throughout the Asia Pacific region.

The judges - Dieu Dai Huynh from Avery Dennison, Präsert Vachiraprakarnsakul, technical director of Harper Asia Pacific, and Pär Olsson Flint Group Narrow Web's product manager - said they were impressed with the quality of the entries.

Niklas Olsson, global brand manager for Flint Group Narrow Web says, "We have a well-established presence in the Asia Pacific region, and a strong focus on helping narrow-web printers there to get the best possible results for their brand-owning customers."

Olsson says, "We were delighted by the high quality of the label entries in the competition and it was confirmation of the technology leap we are seeing across the globe. In the developing economies, reel-to-reel printers are quickly achieving, and exceeding the standards of print in the mature markets."

Flint Group Narrow Web also says that the technology leap can be attributed in part to the contributions of the press manufacturers and the substrate, ink, and ancillaries suppliers whose products represent the leading edge of technology.

  • Winner of UV offset was Suzhou Dong Yi Packing & Printing,
  • Winner of combination Printing was CCL Label,
  • Winner of UV letterpress was Suzhou Jiang Tian Printing,
  • Winner of UV flexo was Winson Press Private; and
  • Winner of WB flexo was Guangdong Shun Chang Printing.
