Objet extends Japanese operation

Objet, 3D printing specialist, and its Japanese distributor Fasotec have established a joint venture company called Objet Japan KK, with Objet holding the majority of ownership share of the new entity.

Since 2003, Objet has provided the Japanese market with 3D printing technology. The company says that demand for the latest technology and advanced applications continues to grow. It has established the new entity for a better understanding of specifications and to keep with the pace of the fast-changing Japanese market.

The company has appointed Eric Goguy as chief executive of Objet Japan. Gilad Yron, managing director of Objet AP, says, “Japan is one of our key strategic markets. The local establishment is our commitment to invest in geographies that offer strong growth potential. Japan is a very special market in which innovative technology, advanced applications and new materials are in high demand. Objet has invested significantly in R&D responding to these demands and we feel that the establishment of local presence will put us in a better position to offer the most appropriate solutions and support suited to the Japanese market. Leveraging the expertise of the two companies, I am confident that the new joint venture will bring forward new opportunities to our channel partners and customers."

Shukichi Shimada, president and chief executive officer of Fasotec, says, "We are very excited to join forces with Objet. Fasotec became Objet's first distributor in Japan in 2003 and we've since witnessed the growth of the 3D printer market as expected. The market still offers a lot of potential and growth is expected to continue. In addition, Objet's product portfolio has also expanded tremendously, consisting of a range of 3D printing systems and materials that are suitable for users from entry level to professional level. Our decision on the collaboration signifies our confidence in the market and our commitment to offer quality solution and service."

New Objet Japan chief executive Eric Goguy, says, "The 3D printing industry is growing rapidly and is revolutionizing the manufacturing landscape. I wanted to be a part of a company that is at the forefront of driving this growth," "The local presence signifies our confidence in the region. I look forward to providing this market with the technology it needs and offering highest quality services and support to our stakeholders."
