Dr Thomas Perkovic (36) will oversee ContiTech's two printing blanket brands, CONTI-AIR and Phoenix Xtra Blanket, in the future.

On July 1, 2007, Perkovic will take the reins from Gregor Ellegast and Jürgen Werner, who will be leaving ContiTech Elastomer Coatings at their own request as of June 30 to explore new directions.

Perkovic has been working at ContiTech since 1999. He was engaged for many years in research and development before taking on segment management functions in 2004.

"The switch will not change anything for our customers," says Perkovic. "They will continue to be served by the various area managers worldwide.

"We shall hold to our two-brand strategy, with separate teams, on into the future. This approach has proven itself in the last few years."

Ellegast and Werner sold PHOENIX Xtra Print GmbH to ContiTech in 2005 and have seen to the integration of the new area into the ContiTech division since then.

In the future they intend to set themselves up in business on their own outside of the printing sector.
