Despite the difficult economic climate, Hunkeler hails its print industry event innovationdays held this month a success with 60 exhibitors and more than 4500 guests from throughout Asia and Europe as well as Russia, South America and the US attending.
Hunkeler says the international audience was rewarded for making the journey to Lucerne, Germany with exhibitors showcasing solutions in a wide range of configurations, showing where developments in and around modern paper processing are headed.A statement from Hunkeler outlines, “Within a concentrated space, practical solutions for print-on-demand, computer centre applications, direct-mail production, web finishing and paper disposal were showcased in an interdisciplinary context.”
Also according to Hunkeler, amongst the high points of the show was quality assurance with the WI6 Web Inspection system across all production and line types, the new POPP7 generation for paper widths of 660mm, inline gluing of book blocks in book-on-demand, plus new enhancement applications on the modular Variweb system.
Hunkeler concludes with its new generation of control systems, it gave a demonstration of its readiness to meet new challenges, adding the next innovationdays is to be held in 2011.
