HP introduces new low solvent inks for outdoor printing

HP says its new inks improve the display permanence of prints produced from the HP Designjet Printer series

HP has announced new ink formulations for its outdoor graphics printers: the HP Designjet Printer series.
Santiago Morera, vice president and general manager, Large Format Printing, Imaging and Printing Group, HP, says, "HP is committed to providing our customers with first-class supplies to meet their specific needs. This new set of supplies takes advantage of the HP supply chain to deliver the pricing and availability customers demand."

HP says that the new inks are compatible with the old inks, so customers can use current HP 780 and HP 790 cleaning and maintenance supplies with the new ink cartridges. The company claims that prints produced with the new HP 781 and 791 printing supplies achieve up to three years of display permanence without lamination and are scratch, smear and crack resistant, although results may vary based on specific media performance.
