ECRM to highlight violet CTP for news at Indoprint ECRM will highlight its violet CTP solutions for newspaper printers and publishers at Indoprint 2007 next week.

Indoprint, the Indonesian Printing Exhibition, is the leading specialised printing exhibition in Indonesia with 10,000+ expected to attend the four-day event.

Indoprint 2006 welcomed trade visitors from 15 countries with the majority coming from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan. There was also a good turnout from Australia, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Germany, Korea, Netherlands, Spain and Thailand.

The show has continuously helped to develop higher standards in the local printing industry and at this year's event, ECRM will exhibit MAKO NEWS on the booth of its local partner, PT Berkat Abadi Pratama.

Exhibiting in stand F42, and represented by local distribution partner PT Berkat Abadi Pratama, ECRM will be demonstrating the production value and benefits of violet CTP for small to mid-sized newspaper publishers.

In their exhibit, ECRM will demonstrate the MAKO NEWS platesetter. Combined with a small footprint, an easy installation process, and a simple-operation approach, the MAKO NEWS enables newspaper publishers to quickly implement CTP.

Indoprint 2007 is being held at the Jakarta International Expo (V Kemayoran) from August 1 to 4 in Jakarta, Indonesia, next week.

"The latest figures from Indonesia show that the number of local daily newspapers has increased," says Johnson Mak, ECRM business development manager, Asia Pacific.

""Though internet use is growing, newspapers are still the major source of information in the region. For publishers, Violet CTP represents a means to increased productivity and reliability.

"Standard performance characteristics are high-quality (now considered equivalent to thermal), simplified electronics, and higher imaging speeds, while helping users to realise dramatically reduced acquisition, maintenance, operational, and most of all, service costs."

ECRM has engineered its MAKO NEWS Violet CTP platesetter to provide the high-quality colour production required by small and medium-sized newspaper publishers.

The MAKO NEWS provides both flexible format and fast, easy operation. It accommodates the most popular range of web widths (up to a maximum format of 635mm x 960mm).

Ideal for deadline-driven publishing environments, it's capable of producing over 78 Berliner plates per hour at 1200 dpi without complex load/unload cycles.

The MAKO NEWS is targeted for most single-width newspaper presses such as those from Berliner and Goss. To provide added flexibility, the optics are designed to deliver eight resolutions from 1016 to 2540 dpi and three anamorphic resolution sets (1016 x 2032 dpi, 1200 x 2400 dpi, and 1270 x 2540 dpi).
