Avery Dennison, self−adhesive solutions supplier for label materials has opened its first distribution centre in Japan, which the company claims will enable it to expand its business in Japan. The company has also established a Japan headquarters office in Tokyo and appointed a general manager of Japan.
The company says the new distribution centre will enable it to distribute products from its businesses quickly and efficiently to Japanese customers. The first distribution centre will be located in Chiba and use the Chiba port for distribution.
Dean Scarborough, president and chief executive officer of Avery Dennison says with so many manufacturing facilities in nearby countries, it is now the time to increase investment and presence in Japan.
He says, “Our strategy and investment in Japan will enable us to serve several important constituencies in one of the most important and vital economies in the world and help them grow not only in Japan, but in other global markets.”
The company has also announced the appointment of Gary LePon, as general manager of Japan. LePon has extensive experience in Japan and will oversee the company’s expansion efforts and investment in the country as well as spearheading the development of new partnerships and strategic alliances.
Scarborough says, “Our strategy is to produce and deliver high quality, innovative products and solutions everywhere in the world our customers are located. We help them develop solutions and products for their own customers by sharing industry knowledge and technical expertise so they can expand their operations.”
