Imaging giant HP probably has in dollar terms more equipment at the show than anyone else, highlighting its growing presence in the commercial print market.
A major focus is the launch of its new DesignJet, the Z6100, which prints at a remarkable five times the speed of the 5500, which it replaces.
The Z6100 is an eight colour printer, with two blacks, light cyan and light magenta to go with the process set. Available in 42" and 60" versions the printer outputs up to 1000sq ft an hour, prints an ink swathe of up to 1.8" and has an optical media advance sensor for improved media control.
Starting at $20,180 ex GST for the 42" version (without rip) the Z6100 also features HP's new DreamColor Technologies, a new certified system of colour technologies making cross platform colour matching accurate and easy.
Two new Indigo presses, whikch had their global launch in Rome last month, were being shown for the first time in the region. The HP5500 is an enhanced version of the flagship 5000 model, while the 3500 is the new entry level Indigo.
