environment
Well known environmental pioneer Finsbury Green Printing received the applause of its peers at the National Print Awards last night for winning three Gold Awards, more than anyone else.

The Adelaide printer is no stranger to awards, picking up a swag of accolades for its commitment to the environment. It is one of a handful of printers ISO14001 accredited, and claims to be Australia's only carbon neutral printer, although there are now several printers in Melbourne and Sydney that would dispute that.

Finsbury Green won Gold in the Two and Three colour Printing category, in the Commercial Posters, Showcards, Card Constructions and Mobiles section, and in the Book Printing - Any Number of Colours category.

Also making more than one trip to receive an Award form presenter Sandra Sully were Hannanprint, RA Printing, Platypus Graphihcs, Pettaras Press and D&D Global, who all won two.

Major sponsors were Agfa, Heidelberg and Australian Paper. SEP Sprint won the Agfa Imaging Award for the second year running, the first company in the history of the Awards to do so. Lilyfield Printing took the Heidelberg Excellence in Craft Award, and Tibor Sic, from Penfold Buscome won the Australian Paper Apprentice of the Year Award.

Altogether some 27 printers large and small won National Print Gold Awards, highlighting the broad quality levels across the industry. A boisterous crowd was kept entertained by comedian Paul Martell.
