Digital print finishing is the main focus of the GBC Australia stand during PacPrint, however the company is also showcasing the new MGI DP60 pro multi substrate press, which the company claims bridges the gap between digital and offset printing.
Raj Dang, general manager of GBC says the DP60 Pro is the only press that can handle a range of substrates including paper, plastics and magnets –at the press of a button.He says, “The press can print plastic cards, PVC covers so it can be an ideal companion to screen printers as well as anyone with promotional print work. Also, for offset printers who want to do some high quality, short run jobs, then this is the solution.”
GBC continues that DP60 can produce up to 3,900 A4 pages per hour in 4-color process and includes an Autocalibration of colours using an integrated densitometer to ensure colour consistency during production runs and reprinting. GBC has sold two DP60 Pros since the press’s launch in Australia earlier this year.
Meanwhile at the stand, the company also showcased its range of coating, variable data, barcode, and photobook solutions, as well as a desktop laminator, which the company claims is a first in Australia.
Dang says, “This small laminator is ideal for digital print shops because its perfect for small jobs and most importantly it’s affordable so it’s easily within reach.”
