Under the motto ‘Grow with Us’ Müller Martini is presenting a new generation of machines, in a distinct new Laserblue colour, a new standardised look and the company says with numerous improvements to their functionality, to reflect ergonomic principles and to offer more protection to the environment.

One highlight is the new Primera series of saddle stitchers for the mid-range performance segment. As a wide range of different job structures and job sizes clearly demands customised system solutions, Müller Martini is offering the Primera series with different levels of automation and speeds. Several models were on the stand, including the Primera C130 (standard model with partial automation and a speed of 13,000 cycles/hour) and the Primera E140 (a highly automated model, 14,000 cycles/hour). The Primera A110 (an entry-level model for the full range of sizes with 11,000 cycles/hour) is being displayed on the Palamides stand.

For cost-efficient production of small and medium-sized runs, Müller Martini launched the Presto E90 (9,000 cycles/hour), a new highly automated version of the successful Presto, with the new 1565 three-knife trimmer with tool free set-up, for a neat trim. The new Q stitching heads (Quick Setup) are available for all the saddle stitchers. These have been redeveloped with Muller Martini claiming they boast unbeatably short job changeover times.

Muller Martini is demonstrating, for the first time in the world, the fully automatic, multipurpose Apila palletizing system which can be used for processing loose, blocked, foil-wrapped or strapped bundles. It can be used in-line or off-line in press delivery or post-press in the saddle stitching section. The Preciso rotary trimmer is being shown in the new DS double stream variant.

The new gathering machine 3697 – with a new separation principle – is being exhibited in the softcover division. This new solution has an innovative sheet separation with which the signatures are peeled off the stack and safely conveyed out to the concave raceway.

Finally in Müller Martini’s printing solution, the infinitely variable size Alprinta V web offset press, Müller Martini is demonstrating how fast a job change can be carried out on a hybrid machine combining offset and flexo printing. The technological innovations reduce make-ready times and waste dramatically and ensure a high level of consistency throughout the run.
